About Maha Mrityunjaya Homa
Maha Mrityunjaya Homa is a fire ritual to Lord Shiva with the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra from the Rig Veda. In North India a homa is called a havan. Families do it for someone who is unwell, before an operation, on a birthday, or for peace in the home. It is a traditional prayer, not a medical treatment or a guarantee of any result. It usually takes 2–3 hours with 2–4 priests.
