Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your My Shrine account (published by Preethi Neethi Jyothi) and the personal data associated with it, what gets deleted, what may be retained, and for how long.

How to request deletion

Option 1 — From inside the app

1. Open My Shrine and sign in.
2. Go to Menu → Settings → Account.
3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Your account and associated data are then permanently removed as described below.

Option 2 — By email

Prefer to ask us directly? Email support@preethineethijyothi.org from the email address registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". To protect you, we may verify that the request comes from the account owner before proceeding. We action verified requests promptly (see timelines below).

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data tied to it, including:

• your account — email address and login credentials;
• your profile & birth details — name, gender, date/time/place of birth and preferences (ista devatha, sadhana interests);
• your Kundali / birth charts, including any family & friends charts you created;
• your community contributions — threads, replies and volunteer submissions tied to your account;
• your push-notification token and notification preferences held on our servers.

What data is kept (and for how long)

• On-device data — items stored only on your phone (sadhana counts, spiritual diary, visit log, pilgrimage plans, theme and language settings) are not on our servers. They are removed when you delete the app's data or uninstall the app.
• Legal / anti-abuse records — we may retain a limited amount of information where the law requires it, or to prevent fraud and abuse. This is kept only as long as necessary and then deleted.
• Anonymised / aggregate data — data that no longer identifies you may be retained for analytics.

Timelines

• Verified deletion requests are completed within 30 days.
• Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days.

My Shrine is currently in pre-launch. The in-app deletion flow becomes available once the app is live; until then, email requests are honoured as described above.
