About Yakshagana
A Yakshagana performance brings actors and musicians into a shared dramatic world. The Bhagavata leads the sung narrative while performers interpret characters through movement and dialogue. Elaborate headgear, facial makeup and costume are part of the storytelling, not simply decoration.
