Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Preethi Neethi Jyothi Private Limited is the data fiduciary for personal data processed through the website and the app.
When you use this website
- Enquiries: when you email us, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, contact details, temple, town or the art you offer. We use it to reply and discuss your enquiry.
- Launch waitlist (closed): before the app was released, people could leave an email and optional phone number to hear about the launch. The form has been removed. We keep entries already collected only to send that news and delete them on request.
- Hosting: our hosting and delivery providers process connection information, such as IP address and request details, to deliver and protect the website.
- Analytics: in India, Google Analytics is on when you visit and you can turn it off at any time with “Cookie preferences” in the footer; elsewhere it loads only after you allow it. It measures page visits, plays of the website films and clicks on the App Store and Google Play links. It does not collect your name, email or phone number.
- Preferences: your analytics choice is saved in your browser. See the Cookie Notice.
Data the app collects
- Account: your mobile number (you sign in with a one-time code), name, email address, gender and username. We do not use passwords.
- Birth details: your date, time and place of birth, and those of family members or friends you choose to add, to work out Kundali, panchang and related insights. Only add another person’s details when you have their permission or are their parent or guardian.
- Location: if you allow it, your device location, to sort nearby temples and work out sunrise, sunset and panchang where you are. We also keep your city, state, country and approximate position (to about 100 metres) with your account, so we can tell you about temples, festivals and events near you. If you pick a city yourself instead, we do not keep your device location.
- Yatra and temple activity: temples you want to visit or have visited, Yatra preferences, holidays and dates you keep free, trip drafts, and saved plans.
- Requests you send: Yatra and pooja or gathering requests, including the contact details, venue address and notes you give us, and questions you ask the AI Yatra planner.
- Community: posts, replies, reports and blocks.
- Payments: when you support My Shrine or pay for a service, we keep a record of the payment — a reference number, the amount or tier, the date and, for monthly support, its status. Card, UPI and bank details go to the payment provider (Apple, Google Play or Razorpay); we never see or store them.
- Device and usage: a notification token, the app version, which screens and features are used, and crash reports. These are linked to your account so we can fix problems you run into.
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- provide the features you use (temples, calendar, panchang, Kundali, Yatra planning, requests, community);
- keep you signed in and keep your account secure;
- process payments and show your support history;
- send notifications you have allowed;
- moderate the community;
- understand how the app and website are used, and find and fix crashes; and
- reply to enquiries sent to us by email.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Where your data is stored
Your account, profile, Kundali profiles, Yatra preferences and activity, requests, community content and payment records are stored with Supabase, a managed database and sign-in service, and only you can read your private records. A few things stay only on your phone: app settings, saved AI Yatra plans and recent searches.
Who helps us
The website uses Firebase Hosting and Google Analytics (on by default in India, only with your permission elsewhere, and always switchable off). The app uses these service providers:
- Supabase — database and sign-in;
- the SMS and WhatsApp providers that deliver your one-time code;
- Google Firebase — notifications, analytics and crash reports;
- Cloudflare — delivering public temple data and images;
- Apple (App Store) and Google Play — support payments;
- Razorpay — payments for poojas, gatherings and other services;
- the AI and mapping services our server uses to build AI Yatra plans;
- Open-Meteo and OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — finding places and time zones; and
- Wikipedia — temple and deity descriptions.
Some of these providers may process data outside India under their own safeguards. If you open an outside link, such as a temple’s official booking site, that site’s own privacy terms apply.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete it, except records we must keep by law — for example, payment and tax records — or to deal with fraud or a dispute. You can ask us to remove a waitlist entry or an enquiry at any time.
Your rights
You can see and correct your profile in the app at any time. You can permanently delete your account in the app (Menu → Delete account); this deletes your profile, Kundali profiles, Yatra data, requests and other records linked to your account. Data on your phone is removed when you delete the app. You can turn off location and notifications in your device settings, and turn website analytics off at any time with “Cookie preferences” in the footer. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion, or to raise a complaint, email admin@myshrine.in. Never send us a one-time code or card details. See also Data and account deletion.
Children
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Parents and guardians may add a child’s birth details to see their Kundali. We do not knowingly let children use the app themselves.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the app and website change. We will tell you in the app about any important changes. If you have questions, email the My Shrine team at admin@myshrine.in or write to Preethi Neethi Jyothi Private Limited, C/O Pushpalatha, Shrinidhi 7th Block, Surathkal, Mangalore, Dakshina Kannada – 575014, Karnataka, India.
